Safe Water at the Oncology Unit

Pediatric cancer patients at Mary Johnston Hospital have been given free access to safe drinking water and advanced sanitation equipment. The technology was a donation of the non-profit organization Waves for Water Organization Inc. The initiative was facilitated through a partnership with Dr. Aimee Lim of RICA Medical Corp. and Adonai's Mercy House, a non-profit organization supporting Filipino children undergoing cancer treatment.
The donation, which includes innovative water purification technology and portable handwashing machines, was deployed to the hospital's pediatric oncology unit. Lianna Francesca Cabigas, Program Management Officer for Waves for Water, demonstrated the deployment of the technology, which is designed to ensure strict hygiene, safety, and clean drinking water for admitted patients and their families free of charge.
According to organizers, the clean water initiative aims to alleviate the financial and health burdens on families of children undergoing cancer treatment by securing zero-cost access to safe, purified water directly inside the ward.
